§ I · The House

Since 1908, Sugimoto Hamono has worked the quiet trade of the blade — supplying the cooks of Tsukiji with knives meant for daily use, in hands that know them.

The shop stocks cutlery across three lineages — Japanese, Western and Chinese — alongside household knives for the home kitchen. Each is chosen for the work it will do, not the case it might sit in.
